(Tubarão Easier)

It is a project in which sub serves business opening. Ideal for a city that thinks ahead the future, generating opportunity for the investor to wage disregarding all the bureaucracy. By the Complementary Law N.o 12/2018, it was established the distinguished and favored treatment to be given, to small businesses within the city of Tubarão, in order to simplify  the registration and legalization of the low-risk economic activity, in compliance with the rules and precepts of Federal Law 11.598/2007, Federal Complementary Law n. 123/2006 and State Law n. 17.071/2017.

An infrastructure-based enterprise for establishing and growing businesses along a community (physical or virtual) in which fosters an entrepreneurial and innovative culture, enables people to business and binds innovative agents. It is aimed to accommodate innovative entrepreneurs, freelancers, Startups and RD&I labs for a limited period. During their period in the center, the entrepreneur will be assisted in order to develop, prototype, produce and trade his/her product, process, or a high added value service.

Implemented by the Complementary Law n. 154/2017 it establishes incentive and support measures for actions in science, technology and innovation strategies in the city of Tubarão, in a sustainable way it aims to promote the research of social, scientific, technological, entrepreneurial, economic, environmental and innovative development.

The sustainable development plan “Tubarão 180º” overall objective is to build a more Humanized, Smart and Sustainable City (CHIS - Cidade mais Humana, Inteligente e Sustentável). Having the HDI (Human Development Index) from the UNSD (United Nations Sustainable Development) as an index. The goal is to be Brazil number 1 city by the year of 2050, taking as inspection points: Be number 1 in the State of Santa Catarina in 2020 and the number 1 in the South of Brazil in 2030. The project is based on three major axes: Development and Sustainability; Education and City; Health and quality of Life. Each one of them covers projects and actions in specific areas.

Generation 2050 is an innovative program that enables young students from the city public education to work in the technology sector, find new talents, stimulate the entrepreneurship in a technology based businesses, reduce the school dropout, increase the access to higher education levels from the professional engagements and have a positive impact in the city income generation. The project is a partnership between the Department of Economic Development and the Educational City Foundation.    

Waters of
Tubarão Project

Created by the City Environment Foundation (FUNAT), with the purpose of finding out solutions to clean up the main rivers of the city and region. The project counts on a partnership between the Tubarão Committee, Tubarão Sanitation and the Environment Defense Council.

The purpose of the HUB is to connect companies, educational institutions, government and health related entities in order to foster the development of innovative health solutions in the city.

Localizada na região Sul do Estado, que totaliza mais de 1 milhão habitantes, Tubarão é destaque em diversos setores da economia e o que a torna muito atrativa para quem vive na cidade, seja para trabalhar, estudar, empreender ou investir. Tubarão tem um perfil econômico dinâmico, com

aproximadamente 5 mil empresas ativas na cidade, sendo aproximadamente 40% prestação de serviço, setor que mais emprega na cidade, com destaque para nas áreas de saúde e tecnologia, 39% comércio, 20% relacionadas à indústria e 1% ligado à agropecuária.

SECTORS

Localizada na região Sul do Estado, que totaliza mais de 1 milhão habitantes, Tubarão é destaque em diversos setores da economia e o que a torna muito atrativa para quem vive na cidade, seja para trabalhar, estudar, empreender ou investir.

 Tubarão tem um perfil econômico dinâmico, com aproximadamente 5 mil empresas ativas na cidade, sendo aproximadamente 40% prestação de serviço, setor que mais emprega na cidade, com destaque para nas áreas de saúde e tecnologia, 39% comércio, 20% relacionadas à indústria e 1% ligado à agropecuária.

As a way of approaching the productive sector and the city management, in 2019 it was implemented by a City Decree the Economic Development Committee, linked to the Secretariat of Economic Development. The committee aims to monitor, articulate, support and promote the process of economic development starting from the economic development plans for seven economically strategic sectors: Agribusiness, Commerce, Civil Construction, Logistics, Information Technology (IT) and Communication, Tourism and Health.

As a way of approaching the productive sector and the city management, in 2019 it was implemented by a City Decree the Economic Development Committee, linked to the Secretariat of Economic Development. The committee aims to monitor, articulate, support and promote the process of economic development starting from the economic development plans for seven economically strategic sectors: Agribusiness, Commerce, Civil Construction, Logistics, Information Technology (IT) and Communication, Tourism and Health.

In order to organize and align the concerned parties, the policymakers must play a role of leadership when defining priorities, growth strategies and resources necessities for the city planning efforts (The Economist).

Innovation, employment and income, health, mobility, environmental sustainability, security, education, and entrepreneurship are the main subjects addressed, of which projects are being prospected in order to develop the related areas. The axes are aligned within the United Nations 17 Sustainable Developments Goals (SDG)

The cities are not the result of a historical determinism or fatalism. Their development is highly dependent on human intentionalities strategically implemented, which ensure that they are in accordance with political, social, and technological innovations (Allwinkle, Cruickshank, 2011: Alves, 2007: Aurigi 2005). 

From these premises, the sustainable development plan Tubarão 180º was born – A new city.

In 2019, a partnership among Tubarão Department of Economic Development, Tubarão Business Association (ACIT) and the 3rd Company from the 63rd Infantry Battalion of the Brazilian Army, launched the project “Programming the Future”, aiming to enable soldiers on software development at their first year of military service. The Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina (IFSC) will enable youngs at Tubarão unit, foreseeing two annual groups of 40 students each.

Moreover, Tubarão offers with the assistance of the City Education Foundation, a series of integration and development projects, contributing to the educational vocation as well as planting seeds of success for the future of thousands of children and teenagers.

Education that generates quality labor

Tubarão has a large educational network, made up of public and private schools, as well as college and technical education, which provide quality education in several areas such as health, technology, engineering and business.

The science, education and professional qualification development is one of the basis for the city of Tubarão. The city cares about its citizens and, through education it gives opportunities and prospects for a better future.

Therefore, Tubarão, known as “The Blue City”, has a full education network, including public and private schools, from kindergartens, elementary, middle and high schools to great Colleges and vocational education institutions.

In the city, MEC (Ministry of Education) pointed out a total of 9 educational units offering professional technician courses and more than 20 long-distance learning and campus-based College institutions.

Talking about College education, UNISUL is a model for the State of Santa Catarina. Displaying the maximum evaluation concept according to MEC (grade 5), it serves more than 20,000 undergraduate students in all areas of knowledge, approximately 3,000 graduate students and 300 students in master's and doctoral programs degree.
